…. from the Wheel through Temperance through The Sun

After a way too long absence from my blog as life dealt a few curves (as it has been know to do…) and I spent some time with family it is time to resume my personal Fool’s Journey. Today parts 3 and 4 are posted to make up for my “Tarot Drought”!

Part Three of my personal Tarot Journey paying tribute to my Tarot influences gets rolling in just a few sentences with the Wheel. When I first sat down to commit this concept to the written word I easily “filled” the Major Arcana positions (with a little bit of shuffling here and there!). Since that writing, I have been working to promote my practice of Tarot and take it to a whole new level. The amount of help and support received from the Tarot community has been
tremendous and I have made new friendships – and now have even more “influences” that I would love to name!

That said, I am practicing a bit of Temperance, the last card of my Part 3 post, and keeping with my original writing. And here we go…

My Wheel is represented by a person whom I believe embodies Tarot from many varied
perspectives. Corrine Kenner has authored several of my favorite Tarot books and those influences have fostered changes in my approach to the cards, helping me to evolve as a reader and become more centered and wholistic. Corrine has a way of making the complex approachable and doable! When the Wheel spins things are stirred up – Corrine is a person who stirs things up in a very good way. It has been my good fortune to meet her and
benefit from all that she has to offer.
Strength is represented by my family as they truly are the source of my strength. Without the support of my loved ones I would not be taking this Fool’s Journey nor would I be a reader with whom a client can develop a sense of safety and rapport during a reading. My family strengthens me as they gentle me. I love them and thank them!

The Hanged Man – One of the most enjoyable ways to learn Tarot while not even realizing the extent of what you are learning is to immerse yourself in the writing of James Ricklef. Through his “Ask Knighthawk” writings a tarotist can playfully experience a novel way to approach a reading and relate to the cards. His affirmations provide a useful tool for clients to positively act on the guidance offered by the Tarot. And if all else fails, you can always color with James and the Tarot. James is a wonderful person, down to earth and friendly. And his upside down, right
side up approach to the Tarot is fun and it works!

Death (At least I didn’t get the Happy Squirrel card, right?) Death, that ho so controversial card with the ability to send querents (and some readers) into a tizzy, is the forbearer of change. If there is one person who has been my change agent it is Theresa Reed. If it were not
for her you would not be reading this blog! Theresa lit the proverbial fire under my butt with a simple, straight forward, and straight from the heart response an email. She took the time to personally offer advice with no underlying motive other than to mentor. It was also through a contest that she offered that Theresa motivated me to pay tribute to my wonderful mother in writing – that was a gift for both of us. I offer a “hell yea” to a wonderful Tarot Mentor and agent for change!

Finally, we move to Temperance, an alchemical blending that results in something even more
exciting, more usable, more profound that what you started with. Robert Place epitomizes the alchemical experience. He takes history and symbolism and mixes them together to create beautiful artistry, exquisite tarot, and reading techniques that combine a multitude of skills to bring readings to a higher level. His way of looking at the relationships between the cards in a spread gave me a new perspective and means of interpretation that enhanced by reading skills. He is one of those people who is a relative walking encyclopedia of knowledge!

And now… join me in Part Four of my Journey which begins with the Devil and my revealing of my guilty pleasure. Those of you who know me – which Tarot influence do you think I will
name?

Almost through the Majors so let’s jump right in!

The Devil – Everybody deserves to have at least one guilty pleasure in which they imbibe on
a regular basis. For me, that guilty pleasure has to Ciro Marchetti (sorry Maria!). My first exposure to Ciro was when I stumbled upon the Tarot of Dreams on the internet and his artistry captured my soul. I honestly can’t even remember how I came to find that deck, I just know that I did and that I had to have it! From the moment I held it I was enslaved. If the first step is admitting your addiction, then I proudly admit that I am addicted to Ciro’s creations and
own every deck he had created and lots of the wonderful goodies upon which he prints his images. What also makes Ciro so special is how generous he has been to the Tarot community, offering images for use, joining in our conferences and celebrations, and friending us. Gotta love Ciro!

The Tower – One of the newer names in Tarot in the States is a name that engenders awe and
respect – Marcus Katz. In just a short time Marcus has brought about profound and unexpected changes to the world of Tarot that have brought about that “struck by lightning” kind of enlightenment! He has twisted and flipped basic assumptions and practices within the Tarot providing fun new approaches to readings. As a citizen of Tarot Town and a member of Tarot Professionals I have met new people, participated in fun activities, and accessed fantastic educational materials. Thank you Marcus for bringing a deck full of possibilities to my doorstep!

The Star – If there is a shining star whose light guides the Tarotist in their studies as well as in their opportunities to expand into the realm of authorship it is Barbara Moore. Barbara has an engaging style of writing and presenting that easily draws you in and captures your interest. Barbara admits a love of cupcakes and the cupcake is a tangible representation how she helps you to have your cake and eat it too! Think of her books and decks as the cupcake, iced with a hefty serving of friendship and willingness to offer advice. Barbara takes that cupcake and “eats it too” by walking the talk and helping people make their Tarot dreams come true. She is a gifted giver of hopes and dreams.

The Moon – When I think about Rachel Pollack my thoughts rapidly move from sage to creatrix to teacher and on and on. The Moon represents mystery, illusion, delusion, the unconscious. The Moon allows you to embrace a sense of lunacy as you explore life beyond what is visible on the surface. The Moon reminds us that there is more to us than what we present to the world at face value. Rachel taught me to question the unquestionable and to not accept that there are boundaries beyond which the Tarot cannot pass. Beyond which I cannot pass. Rachel is Tarot tamed an Tarot wild and she encouraged me to experience Tarot from all aspects, known and
unknown, to move to a higher level of understand of the cards and of myself.

The Sun – Sometimes we need to learn more about ourselves to be open to learn more about
something we love. Everyone needs a “Tarot buddy” with whom they can share their love of the Tarot and explore what Tarot is without censure. I first met Marlene Boas at Omega during a weeklong retreat exploring Tarot with Rachel Pollack and Mary Greer. We found common
interests and ways of thinking that became the basis of a friendship that continues to this day. Three week-long intensives at Omega and three Readers Studio sessions later, I continue to be
thankful for the Sunny influence Marlene has brought to my life. RAWA!

All that is left in This Fool’s Journey is Judgment and The World. How are you progressing through your personal Tarot Journey? Who has impacted your views of the Tarot? Who
has taught you to look within and to look beyond?

Hope you have a tarotific day!

So it all started with a posting on my personal facebook page that read like this… “Some people lead for control and to use and abuse, some people lead in order to foster the growth and development of the people on their team… who would you choose to follow?” I never expected that post to create so much comment, and must thank my friend Donnaleigh de LaRose for reposting it and involving so many in the back and forth sharing! This is such a great area for self exploraton that I decided to creat a tarot spread based on that post and do a reading for myself to try it out! I found it to be a pretty awesome experience and I am sharing the layout with you today, as well as my personal reading from it! I would love to hear your thoughts on the spread and anything you might want to add to my interpretation of the reading. Please try it out for your self or your clients and let me know your experiences! If you use this anywhere, please do credit Karen Borusiewicz / In Touch Tarot. Happy Reading!

The Leading and Following Spread

Some people lead for control and to use and abuse, some people lead in order to foster the growth and development of the people on their team… who would you choose to follow?

This spread looks at how you assume the role of leader and follower in life and some of the inherent risks and benefits you should be aware of. It does not assume a formal leadership role with a corresponding title or office; it might reflect any time or situation when you do something and others follow your lead. Nor does it assume that following is something done blindly and without control. Leading and following both have the potential to be positive or negative experiences depending on the situation.

Shuffle the cards and cut the deck into six piles, with the first pile being placed on position 1, the second on position and so on until all piles are placed. Take the top card from each pile to answer the question for that position. If there are any positions where additional information seems to be needed to better understand the situation or to move forward in a different direction, pull the bottom card from that pile for advice.

This is the first layer of cards pulled for my reading.

After reading this first layout of cards, I then pulled a clarifier/advice card for each position. My interpretation of the reading follows.

Positions 1 – In what situations do I tend to allow others to lead – 7 of Wands

This card is all about needing/having the strength and determination that is needed to achieve
your goals, to overcome obtacles and oppositional influences. It is at time when you are at the top of your game in spite of all odds and need to remain vigilent to sta;y there. I see this card as a validation of my ability to recognize leadership potential in others and to facilitate their ability to “rise to the occasion” and to not just take over and make it right even though it may be easier.

Clarifying/Advice Card – 8 of Swords

I need to be careful to recognize that a person in this situation may be feeling a bit victimized and a bit helpless, being stuck in the notion that the fight cannot be won… If I push them to stand up and take action without helping them to actually recognize their opportunities and not just the very in your face limitations, I can actually make the situation worse.

Postion 2 – In wha situations do I tend to take the lead – The Star

The Star is all about optimism, actualized potential, wisdom, and being able to see the bigger
picture. I love to take lead on new projects, ones that have a potential for me to gain new skills an to unleash the creative spirit. I love to grab on to those opportunities. If another reader looked at this card, however, would they suggest that I tend to step up when the outlook for a project or situation seems to be a guaranteed success? Hmmmm. Is this bad? An aspect to delve into a bit deeper.

Clarifying/Advice Card – King of Wands

This King is a real master and leader of creativity and imagination and represents someone who
enjoys being in charge and will jump right in to a situation and take charge. The King of Wands believes in himself/herself, is passionate and responds to passion. This is the ultimate sales- person and entrepreneur. I am seeing this as advice to “run” with any “Star” opportunity that comes my way as I can and will be successful. If I want to accomplish something than I need to take the lead and not wait for someone else to get me rolling! Funny how that is the very advice I have been receiving from my tarot friends (thank you Theresa Reed!) of late!

Position 3 – Where is there risk for others to control or abuse me – 9 of Wands

The proverbial “calm in the eye of the storm” might be a good way to describe 9 of Wands
situations. Sometimes we get involved in situations that seem overwhelming and our defenses are battered. I am most at risk to be taken advantage of, or led down a path I might not otherwise choose, when the situation is one in which I feel as if my back is up against the wall and I have no choice.

Clarifying/Advice Card – Judgement

Knowing the potential effect of the 9 0f Wands, Judgement offers sage advice to not let
restrictions (perceived or real) bind me but to rather “awaken” to other possibilities. This is when I most need to be open to a new way of seeing things and look at the potential consequences
for any path I choose to forge or follow! I need to literally rise up and face the music or risk being left behind.

Position 4 – What influences may lead me to become controlloing or abusing – King of Cups

Thank you Tarot for pointing out a known – I tend to be very emotional at times and those emotions move me deeply, sometimes to the point of being so intent on following my own
heart that I may lose my sense of balance in the situation. The shadow of the King of Cups can be getting so caught up in your own emotions that you lose sight of others. I need to remain aware of how my own emotions and my need to create a sense of balance might cause me to not consider the emotions and situations of others.

Clarifying/Advice Card – 5 of Swords

This card reinforces the message of the King of Cups nicely… I need to be careful to not win at the expense of others. If my leadership takes advantage of the trust given to me by others, they are not the only ones who will feel cheated and lose. This card might represent success but without the sense of happiness and fulfillment one would want from the situation. It is
advising me to temper my ambition a bit and take the feelings and needs of others into consideration.

Position 5 – Where are there opportunities for others to help me grow and flourish – King of Pentacles

Pentacles are all about the realm of the physical world – day to day life experiences, our money,
our possessions, our family, our health. Pentacles represent being grounded and practical. I have actively been looking to expand some of my passions and hobbies into something more tangible and this card is a beautiful gift acknowledging that I have many people in my circle with the expertise of the King of Pentacles who can help me learn what is needed to grow the things that I value and morph them into my life and work.

Clarifying/Advice Card – Page of Wands

Time to put on my student hat and follow the leaders in the areas that I want to grow and excel
in! This is the best time to identify and run with new opportunities to learn something new; to expand my career; to explore my spirituality; to embrace the creative spirit! The Page may also offer a bit of caution that I need to learn patience and stick with what I start as it will take action, passion and motivation to achieve my dreams. They won’t just happen – I must make them happen.

Position 6 – How do I best help others to grow and flourish – 10 of Pentacles

There are opportunities for positive leadership and to grow others all around – I have
accomplished a great deal in many areas of life and can share the wisdom and values I have gained in any setting. I best help others in my day to day routines, doing what I do best naturally. This card is all about the power of family and community and involving myself In a positive way.

Clarifying/Advice Card – 3 of Pentacles

The card of teamwork and accomplishemt, of educaton and apprenticing. This card advises me to use my skills to benefit others just as I am seeking the expertise of other leaders to foster my
growth. The advice here is to give as I receive! This is not a one way street that I am on. Leaders can also be followers. Followers can also be leaders. When you work within a team all
roles are important! The goal is to manifest the potential of all!

…from the Hierophant through the Hermit

Okay, so if you are just tuning in to my Journey, let me refer you back to Part One where you will meet my Tarot influences from the Fool through the Emperor. And if you read Part One and came back for Part Two – Thank You!! It’s always fun to take a journey with like
minded souls. I had some great feedback from other tarotists who thought making Major Arcana associations a great idea to offer tribute to your tarot mentors. I’d love to hear who your influences are! For now, however, it’s time to continue on my personal Fool’s Journey.

First up this week is the Hierophant. After much back and forth internal discussion, I decided to not name a specific person as my Hierophant but to instead give credit to the authors and artists within my personal tarot library and deck collection – a wonderful source of structure
and education. The collective knowledge and experiences gained by reading and experiencing each book and deck has influenced how I work with the Tarot. Every book, no matter how basic or advanced, has offered me something of value; some titillating tarot tidbit that I can incorporate into readings. Each deck presents new symbols and images that stretch the mind, challenging what I know and feel comfortable with and pushing me to be open to new interpretations and meanings for the cards.

Looking at the Lovers
in terms of relationships and choices, and not in a romantic sense, I chose Leisa ReFalo as my influence. Bet that one surprised most of you! Through The Tarot Connection website and her magnificent podcasts, Leisa provided me with a Lover’s “tree of knowledge”. The Tarot Connection podcasts taught me new techniques and offered exciting choices in how to work with the Tarot, fostering new relationships with the cards themselves.

On to the Chariot! This is a card that at times has given me trouble interpreting it within a reading (okay, to be honest, what card has not been difficult to interpret at one time
or another depending on the question and it’s position within a spread!). I have come to see the Chariot as representing a driving influence and of being the master of your own journey,
of being able to make your own choices and “steering through” opposing forces,
of mastering conscious and unconscious forces. Storm Cestavani is the ultimate Charioteer with an ability to help a struggling tarotist confront dichotomous views about the tarot as well as tarot
“enhancers” such as kabbalah, mythological influences, astrology, etc. Through Storm you can forge a level of understanding as to how they can actually enhance your tarot practice. I love that he is so comfortable and confidant in himself and what he does that he makes no excuses for what he believes. How he takes on current events and keeps you aware… And oh, yea –
have you heard him talk? Storm – love your voice!

Moving forward on the Journey, next comes Justice. The proverbial mediator, a connector of heaven and earth, Justice offers a balanced perspective, a harmonious melding of oppositional forces. Donnaleigh de LaRose (those of you who know her would likely have picked a different Major here, too, wouldn’t you?) through the influences of Beyond Worlds and the birthing of our “Tarot Tribe” has brought so much tarot knowledge into our community, giving us choices and
allowing us to weigh our choices for process and practice carefully, to come to a place of personal balance in tarot. How’s that for a run on sentence?? When I met Donnaleigh at her first Reader’s Studio, as we read together during an exercise, I had no idea how much time we would spend together in the future – we drive to work together almost daily (maybe I should have made her the Chariot and Storm Justice?) Seriously, though, what Donnaleigh has brought me is tons of knowledge on the tarot as well as varying practices and viewpoints that have balanced my approach to the tarot so that I can give justice to my practice! Donnaleigh, your website may be Divine Whispers, but you cause Divine Explosions of knowledge.

And last on today’s Journey is one of my personal favorite cards, The Hermit. James Wells, a fellow Hermit” impersonator at the Readers Studio tarot banquet, is a perfect example for this card. His approach to the tarot is reflective and illuminating, gentle yet prodding. James does not let you take things at face value but instead guides you to finding more meaning in everything you do, from helping a querent ask the right question to looking beyond a traditional

As one of three lucky winners of Jordan’s Life Elements Spread Packages (Thank you Jordan!) I decided to “test drive” the Earth of Life Spread with Jordan’s own deck, Tarot in the Land of Mystereum (which, by the way, has an awesome companion book!). All I can say is, WOW! Once again, the Tarot speaks profoundly!

The 5 positions of this spread are questions that really go to the root of who you are as a person and how you interact with the world around you.

In position 1 Jordan asks “What solidly motivates you? – for me, the Page of Pentacles came up. What a perfect card for this position. In Jordan’s own words, “the Page of Pentacles indicates that your identity develops in a tangible way from new energies… that nourish your ground. The card is a representation of new discoveries and of study as well as play. As this is a time of discovery and creativity for me personally, the Page is not only a solid motivatator but also a reinforcing symbol that the path I am moving forward on will keep me grounded and yet have potential for material benefit.
The second card pulled was The World in the position describing “which of your qualities are depthfully established?” No light hearted questions in this spread! Once again, I have a card that speaks to new cycles! Considering I just started a multi-post blog entry on my personal Fool’s Journey honoring my tarot influences, the World is a great representation of how this journey has helped me to add depth and value to my tarot practice, guiding me to a point to successfully move forward. This card is also a good reminder of my ability to successfully bring projects to completion – I need to keep that knowledge in the forefront as I move forward.

Card 3 was Strength answering the question “How do others value your qualities?” This is a card I can honestly relate to and accept as a tarot truth as well as a personal truth. I am the “strong one” for family and for friends in times of need. I have also been able to pull on an inner strength to hold it together for myself when life gets to be a bit too much. Jordan offers that this card represents natural strength and also cautions to acknowledge the power of strength and not misuse or overuse it. The importance of mind and body working together is noted. I find this to be a very strong message about Strength! When there is imbalance, the very quality that others admire becomes the vice that tears down relationships!

The question “how solidly do you give and receive to nourish your ground?” falls to position 4. This is one of those questions that you read once and then must sit back and really think about. Do I ever consciously act in such a manner to nourish my ground? Not often enough I have to say. For this card I pulled the Knight of Swords. I really needed to think about how to interpret this card in the spread. I fully embody the Knight of Swords at times – my mind goes a mile a minute and I have so many thoughts and ideas running rampant at any one time. This is great for creative brainstorming but many good ideas come and go so quickly that they are never really brought into being. I think this card in this position is a reminder that to honor my creative intellect I also need to manifest. The Mystereum Knight shows a figure with arms crossed over the front of the chest, each hand holding a sword, on pointing up and one pointing down. I think this is a good body position for me to use as a reminder to slow down my thoughts and hold on to them long enough to see how they “fit” into what I want to accomplish both internally and externally. I need to literally “assume the position”!

In the final place, card 5 gives insight on “what in the overall provides you the most beneficial support?” Once again, the Tarot knows and the Tarot tells. I need not even look at the Mystereum book for thoughts on how to interpret this card – Judgment. I know that one thing I very much need In life is feedback. The more personal the better. I am one of those people who hates when a general warning or advice is offered and you are left to try and figure out if that message was really relative to you and your actions or if you are just a bystander in the scheme of things. Judge me, but be fair! And even though I really feel this is the message I am to get from this card, I did still peek into Jordan’s mind. The Tarot in the Land of Mystereum emphasizes that Judgment is a reminder to honor your memories and to allow them to act as a foundation for growth. It is not a time to get lost in memories, however. It is a time to be at peace with your past…
With only 5 cards pulled for this spread, 3 were Majors. I see this as accentuating the fact that this is an important time in my life. That the situations I am experiencing and the roads I am considering will have great impact on my future. It is my time to be grounded on this earth, to grow and to manifest. I thank you Jordan for the Earth of Life spread!

I’d love to hear others thoughts and interpretations for this reading!

From the Fool through the Emperor…

I’ve been thinking about all of the different people who have influenced me in my personal tarot journey – my own Fool’s Journey if you will, and realized how I have drawn from them to develop my own style of reading. From my first step off the cliff of the Fool, as a teenager (yes, it was long ago and far away), so many wonderful tarot icons have imprinted a bit of themselves into my soul, broadening my knowledge of the tarot and helping me to blossom as a reader. I invite you to join me on me own personal Fool’s journey as I pay tribute to those influences that I honor as a tarot professional!

THE FOOL – Me, of course! Need I say anything more than I just did? I thik not.

THE MAGICIAN – The ultimate provider and master of tools for life… I proclaim James Wanless of the Voyager Tarot to be my Magician as this was the second deck I owned and its collage of images fascinated me from the moment I saw it. The expansive array of symbols allow for such broad interpretations and I have found many creative ways to use the Voyager Tarot to supplement readings. James himself is so charismatic and magnetic – when you meet him you can’t help being mesmerized and motivated!

THE HIGH PRIESTESS – Serene, glowing, mysterious, filled with inner knowledge. Mary K Greer is the ultimate High Priestess. Through her books and through classes at Omega and Readers Studio, Mary has inspired me to seek and honor my inner knowledge of people and the tarot and to infuse that “knowing” into my readings. Mary is a true midwife of the tarot and midwife of the soul! When you are lucky enough to work with her you undergo a birthing process as she helps you to frist grow and then deliver the knowledge of the tarot!

THE EMPRESS AND THE EMPEROR – Ruth Ann and Wald Amberstone of The Tarot School and Readers Studio are cornerstones of the tarot community. When I first found out about the Readers Studio in 2008 I was afraid that I was not “qualified” to attend. I had not read professionally and I did not know anyone who did. Lucky for me I decided to embrace my inner Knight and ride my horse into the Studio. I studied like a good little Page and embraced the lessons taught by the Amberstones. I was nurtured and encouraged to grow in my tarot practice and to then stand tall and move out beyond the confines of my own living room. Ruth Ann and Wald introduced me to the Kingdom of Tarot and welcomed me into the tarot family.

So who are your personal Major Arcana influences and why? The words I share here are few and can no way offer the level of tribute that these icons of tarot deserve. Please click on the hyperlinks embeddein in their names to check out their sites! And then… Join me in Part Two of This Fool’s Journey when I introduce you to my Hierophant through the Hermit!

So… I live in central PA and spent much of my life trying to pretend that I didn’t! While small towns are quaint and much safer than many larger areas, their secluded nature seemingly creates a rather gigantic obstacle for the tarotist wanting to read professionally. There is no local metaphysical store. There are NO meetup groups of any kind. No psychic storefronts. Not even a Borders or Barnes and Noble bookstore unless I drive almost an hour! Imagine if you will, an enthusiastic tarot reader set up at the community festival, waving her treasured decks at passerbys, asking if they would like a reading. She is surrounded by churches (yes in my town there is a church and a bar in EVERY block), the unemployed, the highly skeptical, and the “I want something for nothing” crowd… Can we call this a potentially hostile environment? Perhaps I should carry a few of those wands and swords for real and not just on the cards!

I decided to look at my situation as a reversal that needs to be turned right side up to manifest my desired outcome – to start a lucrative tarot practice! Pulling a card from the deck (and deliberately holding them so as to get a reversal) to represent the current situation, I got the 4 of Cups Reversed. Gotta love the tarot! What a great card to represent starting to look at opportunities that were previously rejected or ignored. To opening up to possibilities that are there, but that I just was not able (or willing) to see…. Kind of a tarot “kick in the butt” to get out there and do what I want and stop being my own biggest excuse as to why this won’t work!

On to a card for the next step. How do I really manifest this turn around? On stage, the 8 of Pentacles. Pretty much another no-brainer. Use my skills and knowledge and GET TO WORK! The tarot fairy is not going to drop in, wave her wand, and grant me a thriving tarot business (darn, I so want to have a tarot fairy godmother!). I need to put in the work to get the result. Time to put my obsessive nature (sounds nicer than being anal/retentive, doesn’t it!) to work and make things happen. The good news is I have already been lining up those pentacles. This past week I created my new website, new business cards, and a facebook page for In Touch Tarot (does that count for three of those Pentacles?). I am diligently learning all about how to do things on a website that I never thought I would be doing (Sitebuilder was so much easier albeit much less flexible). I am being a good little 8 of Pentacles person!

Now that I know I am on the right track, time to toss down one last card to see what I can expect for the future given my new outlook and motivation. And guess what – there must be a tarot fairy godmother after all as I pulled the Star! The path I have started traveling to develop my tarot business is lined with hope and possibility. I just need to keep my goal in sight and maintain my course of navigation. Better yet, the Star means I am a star! So… small town, schmall town. The size of the town really doesn’t matter. What matters is the size of the tarotist’s heart, her desire to achieve what she most wants, and her dedication to her craft! I hereby affirm “Today and every day I will do one thing to either enhance my tarot skills or promote my tarot business.” And I will do it proudly in a small town!

Are you looking for a general reading or one that is related to a specific issue? The following information will help you think about what question(s) you might want to look at for your reading.

The best questions to the Tarot start with “how” or “what” followed closely by those that start with “where”, “why”, and “who”. Questions should be about yourself or a situation you are in and not about another person. For example, a good question might be “What do I need to know to make my relationship work with my partner?” as opposed to “Why doesn’t my partner love me?”. Or “How can I increase my chances of getting a promotion?” rather than “Am I going to get a new job?”. If you ask a yes or no question all you get is a yes/no answer. That really does not help you get in touch with the issue at hand and discover how to make a positive change if desired.

When you sit with me for a tarot reading, I will gladly guide you in formulating a question that will help you to fully explore your situation. Sometimes you may find that you really have no specific question – in these situations the Tarot will generally provide a focus point for your reading. The more focused the questioning, however, the more relevent and empowering the informatoin gained will be – keep that in mind when having a reading.

Remember that although the Tarot offers information and insight about you and your life path, we all have our own free will to do what we want to do. The Tarot just lets you know what is likely to happen if you continue on in your current path. Knowing this affords you the opportunity to bring about change. Just so you know, sometimes you will ask a specific question but find that the reading seems to answer or address a totally different situation… When that happens, you usually receive information that is important to you but that you might not have been aware of yourself!
