I personally started playing with the cards in my teen years, “borrowing” a 1JJ deck and a book my mother had.  I don’t even remember the why or when of buying my own first deck, but I brought the Mythic Tarot home and it was soon followed by the Voyager Tarot.  Tarot became a personal experience and remained so until the 1990′s when I became brave enough to “read” for friends.  Reading at that time consisted of me, a friend or friends, and a tarot book!  No book, no reading.  The cards remained a hobby that was tucked in between my explorations of many other spiritual and healing modalities.  I trained in hypnotherapy, past life regression, massage, reflexology, and became a Master in Usui and Karuna Reiki.  I studied martial arts and earned a black belt (Second Dan!) in Isshinryu Karate.  I even walked on fire…And then I did nothing (although not literally!).

I am happy to say that the new millenium brought a renewed interest in tarot, coming at a point in my life where I was ready to really explore the cards in depth.   I have become a voracious reader of tarot books and collector of tarot decks.   My collection of decks grows continuously (much to my husband’s chagrin) and now numbers over 200 (it is so exciting to open a new deck and fall in love with the imagery and messages of the tarot all over again!).  My blessings have included the opportunity to study under some very amazing tarot experts including Mary Greer, Rachel Pollack, Corinne Kenner, James Wanless, and Barbara Moore through Omega Holistic Institute and the Readers Studio sponsored by The Tarot School.  I am a member of the American Tarot Association, Tarot Professionals and The Tarot Guild.  One of my favorite ways of keeping currrent with the tarot is through the wonderful offerings of Beyond Worlds!
